I traced some cirlcles for the bases. Then cut them into cool shapes, cooked the on the oven at 325 for 3 minutes. Glued em down, and we got some wraithbone bases.
The shrinky dinks shrink about 3 times, and become about 9 times as thick. The ratio i used was 45/19=x/35. Solving for x i got 83 mm diameter, for the size of the pre-bake diameter. It didn't come out to exactly match the base. The 45mm and 19 mm was another project that started out 45 mm to begin with and ended up to be 19mm after baking. Once baked though, the plastic becomes brittle. The original shrinky dinks, and ones you can print on with the computer are both a lttle different as well. I need more samples to get a better ratio. Does that help? August 12, 2013 at 3:13 PM
That is a really cool way to do it! Nice work, man!
ReplyDeleteMordian- thanks, they didn't come out perfect, but they look pretty good.
ReplyDeleteWhat sizes where the original circles? Was it a particular size or just any size?
